Experience Overview

For those who appreciate architecture, design, and nature, this experience is truly exceptional.

The bivouac under Skuta (2070 m) is more than just a mountain shelter — it’s an architectural icon nestled in the pristine Alpine landscape. Its story is closely linked with Vila Muhr in more ways than you might expect. This unique bivouac was designed by the same architectural firm, in collaboration with students from the prestigious Harvard University, that also created your chosen accommodation — Vila Muhr.

We invite you to discover another masterpiece from them — this time in a completely different setting: a minimalist design perfectly integrated into the mountain environment, offering breathtaking views and a powerful sense of freedom.

This is not just a climb — it’s an architectural and mountain experience unlike any other.

Required equipment:

  • harness (provided by us)
  • helmet (provided by us)
  • via ferrata kit (provided by us)
  • headlamp (if you have one, don’t bother buying a new one as most likely we wont need it)
  • warm clothing (fleece…)
  • waterproof jacket and trousers (depending on the weather forecast)
  • hand gloves (it can snow on the mountain in August also)
  • hat
  • sun glasses, hat and sun cream (high factor)
  • shoes with a rigid mountainering or trail runing sole (high hiking boots recommended)
  • poles (recommended, if you are used to have them)
  • backpack (30l)
  • water bottle
  • medicine prescribed by your doctor
  • camera
  • energy bars, chocolates, other food for during the climb (the longest stretch without huts is 5 hours long. You can get warm food at the huts, so don’t exaggerate with snacks)

Please note: The route to the bivouac is more technically demanding than the ascent to Triglav, with fewer fixed protections. Having an experienced guide is essential for your safety.
